Description
Kirby's Dream Land 2 is a platformer video game developed by HAL Laboratory and published by Nintendo for the Game Boy in 1995. It is the second game in the Kirby's Dream Land series, and the first to introduce Kirby's animal friends, Rick the Hamster, Coo the Owl, and Kine the Fish.
In the game, Kirby and his animal friends must save Dream Land from the evil Dark Matter, who has possessed King Dedede and stolen the Rainbow Bridges, which are needed to reach the Rainbow Islands. Kirby must travel through various stages, defeating bosses and collecting Rainbow Drops, which are needed to restore the Rainbow Bridges and reach the final showdown with Dark Matter.
Kirby's Dream Land 2 features similar gameplay mechanics to its predecessor, allowing Kirby to inhale enemies to copy their abilities, but also introduces new features such as the animal friends and the ability to combine copy abilities with the animal friends to create powerful new attacks.
The game received positive reviews upon its release and is considered a classic Game Boy title. It has since been re-released on various Nintendo platforms, including the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console and the Nintendo Switch Online service.
